Smoking policy update: A new change to KCP&L's Smoking Policy became effective July 1.
The revised policy incorporates language from the Kansas Smoke-Free Indoor Clean Air Act,
which requires that outdoor smoking at Kansas facilities be located at least 10 feet from entrances,
operable windows and ventilation systems.
Smoking is now also prohibited in all KCP&L vehicles.
As a reminder to all employees, smoking is not permitted in any KCP&L facility or outdoor work area.
A copy of the revised smoking policy can be found in the management employee handbook here
and in the bargaining unit employee handbook
Please familiarize yourself with this policy, as I expect the company will be enforcing it.
Pay special attention to the language if you operate a company vehicle.
